Divisions
Shetland Division: Ages 5-6 (45-50-foot base paths)(Tee-ball)
An instructional league intended to introduce youngsters to the basic fundamentals of the game. At this level, the coaches use a batting tee or pitch and use a softer "safety" baseball. The emphasis is on getting the players and parents committed to attending practice, learning the game, doing things as a team, and getting everyone attuned to the requirements of the game.
Pinto Division: Ages 7-8 (50-55 foot base paths, 38-foot pitcher's area)
A coach pitch training league designed to teach the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, catching, and the concept of teamwork. The competition is greater and there is post season play for the better-developed players. There are also tournaments for teams that have done well during the season. Still the emphasis is friendly competition.
Mustang Division: Ages 9-10 (60-foot base paths, 44-foot pitcher's mound)
This is the first time that players self-pitch and catch. Base stealing also begins at this level. Individuals that excel have the opportunity to play on the All-Star teams, which could advance as far as the PONY World Series.
Bronco Division: Ages 11-12 (70-foot base paths, 48-foot pitcher's mound)
Takes the players into the complete game of baseball. At this level the base path is extended and individual skill are more fully developed.
Pony Division: Ages 13-14 (80-foot base paths, 54-foot pitcher's mound)
The players get to fully “inter-league” and compete against other leagues and districts all over Oahu. The play is very competitive. Teamwork is the key to a successful season.
